Colours and Weather

Five year old children asked the rainbow about its colours:



Rainbow, rainbow...
What colour are you?
I am blue.  (yellow, green, pink, purple, orange, red)


We wanted to play with the colours to review the vocabulary so we played with another version:

Rainbow, rainbow...
What colour are you missing?
I am missing .... (red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple, pink)


Another day we sang the song that say:

Children worked on a worksheet by colouring a rainbow. We did some games of memory and they had to find out where the position of the different colours was in the rainbow.

What they don't know yet is that they are going to find a treasure at the end of the rainbow. It is going to be a very nice surprise!!!!



Our Favourite Dates in November and December

As we said, Sixth Grade Group worked in the English Lesson on their favourite dates all along the year. Each one talked to their classmates and their teacher about some of their favourite dates. We have posted the month of November and December and this is what they said about, it was hilarious.




All about me!!!

Well, the students of 5th Grade have been working on how to explain about themselves, all about their likes, dislikes, their family, the way that they look and so on. And these are some examples of what they did:





Songs and Games for Weather and Clothes

Five year old kids are working about weather and clothes topics and they are learning these concepts with different songs and games with flashcards. We made up a song for that topic in the time that they were learning the vocabulary by trying to find out the name of the flashcards. And that is what the song says:

Halloween 2014 (This Blog got behind with Halloween but our School was on TIME!!!)

We Celebrated Halloween

A little bit of the story of Halloween:
Many americans celebrate Halloween on October 31. Celebrations include costume parties and trick-or-treating.
Halloween celebrations include costume parties where people dress as witches, ghosts, and animal figures associated with Halloween, or as fictitious characters from horror films, television shows or books. Costume parties are often held at people’s homes, a hired venue, or venues that are supposedly haunted.
Many schools around the world, including international schools, celebrate Halloween by hosting costume parades and award prizes for creative costumes. Schools also provide fun classroom activities such as bobbing for apples, Halloween-themed coloring or drawing contests, and other games associated with Halloween. Students also learn about the observance’s origins and history.
Many children dress in costumes and form groups that are accompanied by adults to embark on a trick-or-treating adventure. This activity involves children knocking on doors in their local neighborhood and requesting a trick or treat. Some people give out treats while others request a trick, which often involves children presenting a small joke or trick. Many homes are decorated to fit the Halloween theme during this period. Decorations include fake cobwebs, jack-o-lanterns and images of black cats or witches.

Lope de Vega school didn't want to miss Halloween Celebration this year again. So there were so many different activity that were done with the students. 
The doors of the buliding were covered with scary  faces:

And a frightening play went on to perform on stage on Halloween Day, October 31st.

Red Colour with body parts

I have been working with the very youngest kids during last week and the current one, and it has been fun.

Kids got their face parts coloured with red face paint, they looked being happy with that activity. 

I decided to make a different version of the song so I could teach the colour red and the face parts:

Students learnt about how to say eyes, ears, nose and mouth, and they also learned where they could find them in their face.

The youngest children were singing this song using some cut outs of some body parts for their bodies. Once again, they had fun.
