Spelling Bee in Broadway

Too many things have been going around of the Spelling Bee Contest. One of the best ones is the extraordinary Performance played with the 6th Grade Students this year. They wanted to say thank you to everything they have been learning during this last five years at Lope de Vega School. Get into and take a look, it is really worthy what you are going to see.

So many amazing experiences, so many brilliants actors and actresses and so much fun, no doubt. 

I cannot think of something else to have success in Broadway!!! 

Final Competition is behind the corner

The "Final level competition" between the two Primary Schools of Casariche and Herrera and it is going to be on 21st May, onThursday. It will be a competition among the top best spellers from each cycle to compete for the School Title.

Oral Cycle Level Competition is coming soon

The "oral cycle level competition" is going to start on Tuesday. It will be a competition among the top best spellers from each class to compete for cycle title.

We wrapped up these two week-long competition with the class level competition finished today. They were two very exciting weeks in each of the classrooms.

Oral Class Level Competition started in levels 3 and 5 today. We are going to continue with the rest of the levels during the current week and the next one.

Easter in Casariche

After a great job of parents and children, the youngest students had a great time celebrating Easter at home and at the school as well. We had some inconvenences related to the weather at the school, so kids couldn't experience by themselves the really process of Eggs Hunt until this week, but the wait was worthy. That were the results:

Additional customs that have become associates with Easter and are observed by both Christians and some non-Christians include egg hunting, the Easter Bunny, and Easter parades. There are also various traditional Easter foods that vary regionally.

Egg hunt is a game during which decorated eggs, real hard-boiled ones or artificial, filled with or made of chocolate candies, of various sizes, are hidden in various places for children to find. The game may be both indoors and outdoors.

When the hunt is over, prizes may be given out for various achievements, such as the largest number of eggs collected, for the largest or smallest egg, for the most eggs of a specific color, consolation prizes, booby prizes, etc.

Real eggs may further be used in egg tapping contests. If eggs filled with confetti left from Mardi Gras (cascarones) are used, then an egg fight may follow.

A young woman hides Easter eggs for preschool-aged children to find. She is careful not to make their location and retrieval too difficult.

Eggs are placed with varying degree of concealment, to accommodate children of varying ages. In South German folk traditions it was customary to add extra obstacles to the game by placing them into hard-to reach places among nettles or thorns.

How Many Days are left?

This year, we didn't make any changes to the contest. Rather than competing within our own center as we did the first year, we will compete with the bilingual primary school in Herrera, they participated last year.

The students who qualified to participate in the oral competition will compete first with their classmates in the Oral Class Level Competition.The next stage of the competition (orally, at the class level) will be held the last week of April. And the final round of competition with students from Herrera will be held the second week in May, with representatives from their cycle both from Casariche and Herrera.
